General Information

The Delaware Alliance for Community Advancement has three main programs; the Community Education and Training Development program, the Community Public Health Development program, and the Community Beautification and Historic Preservation Development program.

Our leading program is the Community Education and Training Development program, which currently includes the offering of tax counseling services, and financial literacy and computer proficiency courses. There is no charge for all services, and course offerings and
technical assistance is provided to clientele by DACA staff.

Each program's specific focus is different, which reflects DACA's mission to positively impact the livelihood of Delaware community residents through a variety of services and programs. These services and programs are outlined below:

Community Education and Training Development:

The Community Education and Training Development Program of the Delaware Alliance for Community Advancement (DACA) is committed to providing tax counseling services and preparation trainings, financial literacy and computer proficiency courses, Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) counseling services, and contracting and construction training for post-incarcerated and veteran populations of Wilmington’s Eastside Community, and the greater New Castle County region. There is no charge for all services, and course offerings and technical assistance will be provided to clientele by DACA staff.

Community Public Health Development:

The Community Public Health Development Program of the Delaware Alliance for Community Advancement (DACA) is committed to promoting active lifestyles, encouraging public environmental awareness and education, and improving the health and wellbeing of residents of Wilmington’s East Side Community, and the greater New Castle County region.

Community Beautification and Historic Preservation Development:

The Community Beautification and Historic Preservation Development Program of the Delaware Alliance for Community Advancement (DACA) is committed to ascetically enhancing Wilmington’s Eastside Community, and the greater New Castle County region; as well as, preserving the Black American and immigrant historic identity of the Eastside Community. DACA’s community gardens program—developed and directed by DACA associate, the Eastside Blueprint Community Development Corporation—and mural arts youth and young adult program, advocate ascetical enhancement initiatives while promoting community deference and pride, core values of DACA. Through the collaborative conservation of significant artifacts, DACA and its affiliates are developing a collective catalog of the Eastside community’s heritage.
